Updates

This is just a random post.

From my local McD's: MUTANT BURGER!!!

It was kinda lame...

My Bday. Happy 22 :)

Bday cuddles :)

Soon we leave for Japan, so these are the last pics from the states for a while. I probably won't have time to post again while we prep for this move, but my blogging was sporadic anyways.

Now, look for more exciting posts about our life and adventures in Japan. :)

I passed!

I am now the proud owner of a WA motorcycle license. Of course, that means I had to exchange my CA license for a WA one, but oh well. This one says military instead of an expiration date, so one perk is that I won't have to worry about renewing it every 5 years while my hubby remains in the military.
The class was a lot of fun. I'm really glad I took it. Thursday was the in-class session for 4 hours where we learned safety and where the controls on a motorcycle are. The teacher got us involved, so we weren't just lectured at. I learned a lot more this way and passed the written exam on Saturday with a 98%! I only missed one question out of 50. Also on Saturday we did our first 5 hours of riding. I was so sore by the end of this day which was ended with another 4 hour class session. 9 hours! We rode another 5 hours Sunday and tested. I was still sore from the day before, but was a lot more comfortable on the bike. We did some complicated stuff this day such as quick breaking and "the box"....*shudders* I hate "the box." It was even on the test. I thought I failed because I went out of the lines, but I did well on everything else, so I passed anyways. Almost everyone messed up on the box too.
I was the only one to scrape their foot peg on the cornering too. Apparently that's a good thing cuz the instructor said it was AWESOME! It scared the shit out of me when it happened, but luckily I didn't panic and finished the turn and came to a perfect stop. I'm so proud I made it through this course. I was the only girl to even make it to testing. There were 3 others in the beginning...so I really felt the pressure to pass.

More Dark Swan!

My copy of the second Dark Swan arrived yesterday!
I love the artwork in these comics. It is such a treat to see my favorite characters depicted this way. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next two issues. However, I'm moving to Japan in less than a month, so I might have to wait a bit. The next issue will release next month, and the fourth, a month after that. I am seriously considering framing these and hanging them up at our new place, if hubby will let me. It'll look great in my reading corner!
In other news, I get to ride a motorcycle for the first time tomorrow. The classroom portion went well, so hopefully I will pass the written and riding tests Sunday and have the endorsement added to my driving license before our PCS. I also hope I don't lose my balance tomorrow and embarrass myself!
Wish me luck!

Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July!

I brought in the holiday with zombies.

This was a quick and enjoyable read. My favorite was "Sleeping Zom-Beauty," but I loved them all. I read this in one sitting, but it only took a half hour. It was interesting to see a new take on fairy tales I barely remember, but loved as a child. I've already gone back through and reread some of the stories.
